COPING WITH PANIC ATTACKS

Wherever we see, it is a vey common sight to see many people suffering from panic and anxiety, irrespective of the age group. Students suffering from panic due to study stress and peer pressure, housewives suffering from this on account of various family worries and safety of children and husband and men and women suffering form various work stresses triggering panic attacks. The main symptoms of panic are said to be sudden fear of the unknown, shortness of breath, person breaking into cold sweat, sticky palms, dizziness, shivering sensation and nausea on account of excessive fear and a blank look in the face and being unable to take cognizance of the surrounding.
A person who is a victim of panic attack does not evince any interest in socializing or mingling with his people. He prefers to remain by himself, becomes withdrawn and given to mood swings and unpredictable temperament. But, every disorder or illness has a cure or any such problem can be brought under control, only if the victim is keen to cooperate and come out of it. The patient should be a willing participant and should be ready to cope with his problems. First and foremost, he should want to give the disease the due consideration it needs and look at his problems squarely without running away from it. He should know what exactly starts the panic and should look for ways to avoid such stimulants which cause panic. He should have a healthy and nutritious diet and exercise well which will create lot of positivity in him and check the frequent rush of adrenalin. A positive attitude to life and meditating will make him stronger and h should socialize with such people who will have a positive effect on him and treat him like a very normal human being with normal emotions. Added to all these, good sound sleep and going to bed at a fixed hour every night is essential. If he incorporates these habits which are the best treatment for panic attacks, in his daily life, there is no reason why he cannot cope with his problem or even overcome it fully.
